Dr. Efrat LaMandre, popularly known as Dr. E, spoke to WAFF 48 in Huntsville, Alabama about sleep. Celebrated on TikTok and the founder of a successful health coaching company, let’s see how Dr. E suggests we can improve our nightly zzz.

Limit Screen Time Timely

We all enjoy scrolling through our devices, but did you know it might be interfering with your sleep? Turns out, the blue light from our screens can fiddle with our sleep hormones. Dr. E suggests dropping those screens at least an hour before lights out.

Avoid Evening Alcohol

It’s tempting, right? That glass of wine that makes your eyes feel heavy. But here’s the real story. Although alcohol might help you fall asleep initially, it does not make for good sleep overall. Once your body breaks it down, it disrupts your rest instead of boosting it. So, resisting that nightcap might be a good idea.

Consistency is Key

Our bodies love routine, and sleep is no different. According to Dr. E, heading to bed and waking up at the same time each day, yes, even on your days off, can help improve sleep quality. Consistency helps your body create a strong sleep-wake cycle.

Keep it Cool

Lastly, Dr. E suggests keeping your bedroom temperature on the cooler side. A cool room can help your body ease into rest mode faster and more comfortably.
